Joan C. Lukich
Joan C. Lukich, 70, passed away January 27, 2010 after a brave battle with Chronic Leukemia.
she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lewis T. Lukich and parents, May and Claude McGlothlin. She is survived by sons, Russell Lukich and Andrew (Jessica) Lukich; grandsons, Caius and Aurelius Lukich; brothers, Paul D. and Larry J. (Becky) McGlothlin; sister, Betty (Chuck) Seeley; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Joan graduated from the University of Akron in 1961 with a BS in Education, and continued to learn and teach for nearly 50 years. She obtained six college degrees, several certifications, and completed course work for a PhD in Education. Most recently, she taught Anatomy & Physiology at The University of Akron. Joan was choir director and active member of Western Reserve Christian Church in Hudson, Ohio, and both Joan and Lew sang in Summit Choral Society. Joan was an active member of Mensa, and loved working at Don Drumm Gallery over the years.
A memorial service will be held in April or May at Western Reserve Christian Church, date and time TBA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Reserve Christian Church, 516 West Streetsboro Street, Hudson, OH 44236-2055, or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Joan Lukich.
