Joseph R. Nemer, Sr., born September 11, 1931 in Aitanit, Lebanon, died March 4, 2010.

Joe came to America in 1952 to Cleveland, Ohio where he was drafted into the American Army, and served his time in Korea. He then returned to Cleveland to sell insurance. He followed family to Akron and established Hunter's Bar and Grill on Market Street. After enjoying success there, he went on in 1978 to establish the well known ``Sun Bar and Grill' on East Exchange, which was recently acquired by the University of Akron. Joe was an extremely successful business man, and known by many young and old alike, who frequented his businesses, and would stop by to have a drink. He marched to his own drummer, and was true to himself in the fact that he never cared what people thought about how he lived his life. His main concern was that of his wife and family. Because of Joe's work ethic, and the fact that he was a ``family man', he never socialized, or took vacations. He was happy as long as his family were around him.

He leaves to mourn, the love of his life, whom he was married to for 50 years, Mona (nee Malek) Nemer. The other loves of his life, his children, Joelle and Roger Karam, Joseph, Jr. and Noha Nemer; grandchildren, Jessica and Christina Karam, Alexandra and Joey Nemer III.

``Life intends life. There is no death that is not another beginning. There is no end that does not start anew. In every loss, in every grief, there is the hand of comfort, the hand of faith, waiting to move forward into new ways.' Julia Cameron
