Raymond Arnold Sharp, 86, passed away March 5, 2010.
He was born in Akron and was a lifetime Copley resident. Mr. Sharp was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving during World War II. Arnold retired as a chief officer of Akron Fire Department in 1980. He was a member of Copley United Methodist Church.
His passions included building and flying model airplanes, being outdoors hunting and fishing, but most important to him was his family.
Preceded in death by son, Timothy B. Sharp; brother, Al and sister, Alberteen; he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Van Nostran; son, Dale (Susan) Sharp; grandchildren, Tim, Seth, Erin, Stacey, Katelin, and Sarah; great-grandsons, Alex and Bryce; brother, Kenneth (Bonnie) Sharp and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Becki Bowan-Verbridge officiating. Burial at Copley Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. TUESDAY at the funeral home where the Last Alarm service will be held at 7 p.m.
